The Lei Cheng Uk Khan Tomb Museum consists of a brick tomb and an adjacent exhibition hall.
The tomb of Lei Cheng WOOK Han was discovered in 1955 when the government was leveling the hillside in Lei Cheng WOOK Village to build resettlement buildings. According to its structure, inscriptions on grave bricks and tombstone finds, it is believed that the tomb was built during the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220 AD). The tomb was declared a monument in 1988 and has been continuously preserved since then.
Although it is closed to the public for conservation reasons, visitors can still view the interior of the tomb through a glass panel in the entrance passage.
The exhibition hall was built next to the grave. In addition to displaying ceramics and bronze items recovered from the tomb, there is an exhibition, namely “Lei Cheng WOOK Han Tomb” on display.
Texts, graphics, photographs, maps, videos, and models are used to represent the geographical location, discovery, and structure of the tomb.
“Trade Passages: a pictorial exhibition of the Silk Road in the Han Dynasty” is also on display.
Visitors can better understand the explosion of trade in the Han Dynasty.
