Aberdeen Hong Kong

Aberdeen Hong Kong

Aberdeen is a neighborhood on Hong Kong Island
Aberdeen Bay, named after Lord Aberdeen, Secretary of State for the Colonies in the mid-19th century, is located in the southwest of Hong Kong Island. It is the oldest settlement on Hong Kong Island and is currently one of the most popular and most expensive residential areas on the island. The Cantonese name Heung Kong Tsai, which is preferred by locals, means “little Hong Kong”.
What is there here?
The harbor. There are marinas for yachts and fishing vessels in the harbor.
Fish market
The Jumbo Restaurant boat (gone, sunk)
Boat restaurant “Tai Bak” (now abandoned. Maybe they will do repairs)
The pier from which you can go to Lamma Island.
You can also rent private boats to explore the bay.
You can swim around the island of Apple Chau

I was here in June 2024.
Below are historical photos
