Golden Beach “wong4 gam1” is located in Hong Kong in the New Territories. This is the longest public beach in Thunmun County, with a length of 545 meters and a total area of about 78,500 square meters. Wonkam is the first artificial beach in Hong Kong, which was filled with imported sand. This beach has been assigned a second class, meaning that the water quality is acceptable, but not perfect. There is a 480-meter long boardwalk along the beach, and it is protected from the sea by a safety net. The infrastructure here is quite well developed – there are showers, toilets, changing rooms, restaurants, a hotel, a kiosk with soft drinks.
Golden Beach in the New Territories is the easternmost of a series of beaches located at a short distance from each other.
The beach is 545 m long and 15 m wide
The other three – Kadoorie Beach, Castle Peak Beach и Cafeteria New Beach.
This is a large beach with a length of more than half a kilometer, which is regularly highly rated in terms of water purity, and the sand was brought here from Hainan Island. The promenade and the surrounding area are decorated with tropical trees, palm trees and flowers, and there are eateries, restaurants and a shopping mall nearby. The beautiful Gold Coast Resort Hotel is also located here.
