HongKong Museum of History 香港歷史博物館
The Hong Kong Museum of History was established in July 1975, when the City Museum and Art Gallery were split into the Hong Kong Museum of History and the Hong Kong Museum of Art. But some of the museum’s collections date back to the city museum and the art gallery founded in 1962 in the city hall.
In 1983, the museum was moved to temporary housing in Kowloon Park.
It was moved to its current premises on Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui in 1998.

The permanent home of the Hong Kong Museum of History, with a total area of 17,500 m2, is located in a new building, built at a cost of HK$390 million and funded by the Government of the Hong Kong Government. It is a comprehensive modern museum designed by P&T Architects and Engineers Ltd., based on the architectural concept of Mr. E. Werner Johnson. The new Museum and the neighboring Science Museum together form a museum complex with a harmonious appearance and color scheme.

In addition to the main museum on Chatham Road South, the Hong Kong Museum of History has 5 branches:
