There were no lighthouses in Hong Kong or China until the middle of the 19th century.
In 1867, Military Commander Reed was tasked with finding good locations to place lighthouses. But it didn’t go any further. In 1873, the Chinese government decided to build two lighthouses. Before the 2nd World War, 7 lighthouses appeared in Hong Kong. And then 2 more.

Cape D’Aguilar Lighthouse (Hok Tsui или Hezui Lighthouse) the first lighthouse in Hong Kong.
It was opened on April 16, 1875 in honor of Major General Sir George Charles D’Aguilar (1784-1855). The height is 9.7 meters.
It beat at 23 nautical miles and illuminated the islands Waglan Island, Lamma Island, Sung Kong Island, Lin Ding Island.
In 1896, the lighthouse was turned off, as
it was built in 1893. Waglan Island Lighthouse.
But in 1975, the lighthouse was turned on again and automated. In 2006, the Cape D’Aguilar Lighthouse was recognized as a monument. Managed by the Marine Department. Access to the lighthouse is prohibited.

Waglan island Lighthouse (Henqian island lighthouse) It has been operating since 1893.
The height is 16 meters. I blinked once every 15 seconds.

It was initially launched at the request of Chinese Maritime Customs Shanghai, but in 1901 it was transferred to the Hong Kong government.
During the 2nd World War, the lighthouse was badly damaged and was restored in 1945. In 1989, the lighthouse was automated. In 2000, it was recognized as a monument.

The Hong Kong Maritime Museum has a replica of the lighthouse lamp.

Current modern lighthouse system:

Green Island Lighthouse. It was opened in 1875. It beat at 14 nautical miles. The height is 12 meters.
In 1905, a new lighthouse was built next to the lighthouse, 17 meters high.
The lantern from the Cape D’Aguilar Lighthouse was moved to the Green Island Lighthouse in 1905.
In the 1970s, the lighthouse was automated. In 2008, it was recognized as a monument.

Cape Collision Lighthouse Built in 1876. It’s just a two-story building. It doesn’t look like a classic lighthouse.

Tang Lung Chau Lighthouse (Kap Sing lighthouse) Since April 29, 1912, it was built on the island of Tang Lung Chau (formerly called Kap Sing island), near the island of Mawan.
The height is 11.8 meters.
It was automated in 1980. It was recognized as a monument in 2000.

Fan Lau Lighthouse Built in 1936, in the south of Lantau Island. The beacon flashes once every 6 seconds.

Tathong Point Lighthouse
It is located on the Lam Tong Mei Peninsula, next to Tung Lung Island. It was built by the Japanese during the occupation of Hong Kong 1941-1945.
The place was originally used as a firing point and weapons depot. Since 1965, an engine room for the lighthouse has been installed in the room next to it.

The rock under the lighthouse was specially painted white
