Currently, citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus have a visa-free entry to the territory of the Hong Kong SAR for a period of 14 days. In order to stay in Hong Kong for a longer period of time, you must have a work, investment, family visa or an APEC Business Travel Card. The card entitles you to a 60-day corridor for 5 years.
And then there is the HKSAR Travel Pass issued by the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
This separate document, similar to a passport and consisting of 32 pages, grants the holder the right to multiple entry and stay in Hong Kong for up to 2 months. The document is issued for 3 years.
An additional advantage of the Travel Pass holder is the ability to use the right to pass through immigration control at the counters for Hong Kong residents and through the E-Channel.
To be able to apply for a Travel Pass, a candidate must visit Hong Kong at least three times in the last 12 months (in addition to cross-border trips from China and Macau) or provide objective reasons to the Director of the Immigration Service why issuing a Travel Pass will benefit the Hong Kong SAR (this may include visits to exhibitions, meetings with clients).
If the candidate meets the above criteria, then you can submit an application to the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
The package of accompanying documents, in addition to the completed questionnaire in English or Chinese, includes the following:
1. 2 photos 55*45;
2. A copy of your passport (including pages with personal data and records confirming at least 3 visits to Hong Kong);
3. A letter from a foreign company where the candidate is employed, indicating the reasons for the need for frequent and/or long-term visits to Hong Kong and the company’s field of activity;
4. Recommendations from a Hong Kong partner;
5. Payment of the application fee in the amount of HK$ 660.
The application review period is usually from four to six weeks. The applicant can pick up the Travel Pass personally or through a representative by presenting the original passport of the applicant to the Immigration Service.
It is worth noting that a Travel Pass does not replace a regular passport. That is, when crossing the border, you must have not only a Travel Pass, but also a valid passport.
