There are movies/people/cities for 1 time. But it’s not about Hong Kong, where it’s always nice to come back again and again!
I first flew here when I lived in Shanghai for six months, for 5 days.
And then many times. I managed to visit: Ocean Park, Victoria Peak, Beaches on Hong Kong Island, Lamma Islands, Lantau, Chengchau, Park island. I spent the night 3 or 4 times at the posh Conrad, in Pacific Place.
On January 8, 2020, I went to GK again (for the 15th time) – my friends arrived!
I took an Internet package for 9.9 yuan (24 hours) as always in Huawei’s Skytone app. I already had an article about it here.
I bought a train ticket in a Chinese app 12306订票助手 but I still had to stand in line for a paper ticket!
Train at 6 a.m., 7:15 a.m. in Shenzhen. I walked both borders in 12 minutes (there were queues on the E-Channel, so I used the APEC Business Travel Card). At 7.30 I was already on the subway, and at 8.40 I got off the Central metro.
That’s the speed! At 6 a.m. in the GJ, and at 8.40 already in the GK center!
There is no direct train to GK early in the morning, therefore, via SHH.
My friends arrived at the airport and took the Airport Express train to Central. Tickets are not cheap, by the way. But when you return on the same day, return tickets are free! You can also take buses (33 HKD), but this is not always convenient – it depends on where you need to go.
The MTR Mobile app is very convenient for planning metro trips. They also have the MTR Club program with bonuses, you need to register (very easy) and activate the card at special terminals. I was unlucky this time, the device was smashed!

Now about the Octopus map, the main transport card of the city. I have 4 of them, I replenish 100HKD each time – the money disappears instantly! It can be used to pay for the subway, bus, tram, boat, shops and attractions.

The Octopus mobile app allows you to manage your card more flexibly and receive cashback, but you need to have a Hong Kong mobile number to register. I don’t have it yet.
Without registration, you can check your card balance using NFC – a very convenient feature!
The day with friends passed quickly (Victoria Peak, Hong Kong Park, tram, lunch at Tsui Wah, Star Ferry boat, Avenue of Stars) and they left on the Airport Express.
I went to Immigration Tower, which is located on WanChai, to register an E-channel. This is a system for quick entry and exit from Hong Kong through an electronic gate. In 2017, he received the APEC Business Travel Card (www.apec.urlov.ru ) and based on this, I was able to create an E-channel for Hong Kong.

The information is recorded on the chip in the passport. I couldn’t choose the time before, I finally did it!
And since March 2019, I have been actively using the Chinese E-channel (made on the basis of a family residence permit in China).
I also found a good numismatic store on WanChai. Coin prices are 2 times lower than in China! The WanChai Metro station has many strip clubs (one name) and “massage parlors”.

Returning from Hong Kong to Guangzhou, I tried out a new Wechat mini-app 广深城际通 for instant purchase of a train ticket from Shenzhen to Guangzhou.

On this day, there was even a discount of 5 yuan. You just need to attach a QR code from the application and the turnstile will open, information about the train and location will be released. My ticket arrived without a seat, but the train was half empty.
